Our angel. My oldest son made it in 2 year old preschool out of a paper plate. We've had it for 22 years.
Great post about your Christmas tree and decorating experience. You ladies look like you're having fun too.
ReplyDeleteWe help the in-laws with the search and cut mission for a tree. It never fails that the day we go look for a tree is the coldest and most windy day of the month. Brr.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all had a super time.
Enjoyed the outing of getting your tree. Paper plate angels made by a son 22 years ago are the best kind to have on top. I have cardboard stars covered with foil that my kids made 30 some years ago. Your tree is beautiful and I'm sure you had a beautiful time with your friends. I served the same little lemon cakes to my friends last Christmas!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the holidays Julianne!

What fun! Wish I'd been there!
ReplyDeleteI can be a b**ch sometimes! :)
I love being able to see what other people do for any occasion, but think I'm going to especially love seeing others celebrate this season (my first xmas in the blogging world).
ReplyDeleteI thought that the moon hanging over the foggy field was going to be my favorite photo, but think it's actually your wood paneled family room with the stone fireplace! Could it get any cozier than that, especially with a family-cut tree and all those memories hanging on it...not to mention hanging out with friends?!?
I want to get a tree over there. We've got tents in parking lots over here.
ReplyDeleteFantastic pictures! And I loved getting a look at your day. :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your day out and the food looks delicious....oh and those cute animals.
ReplyDeleteI want to be a Bunco Bitch...you all are having too much fun.
Julie, your tree looks lovely and I love how you are still using your son's angel....I love traditions.....:-) Hugs
You have the most fun! Love the furry animals and the food and the ladies and the tree! I'll be back...
ReplyDeleteAll ready for the big day then!
ReplyDeleteBest part of the post - the angel you've had for 22 years! Very, very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love tree farms. If they have bunnies, I love them even more! Thanks for the pictures!
ReplyDeleteYou're way ahead of me! Your tree looks fabulous and that bbq looks divine! Glad ya'll had a good time.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. Not only did you get the tree, you put it up and decorated it...ALL IN THE SAME WEEK! We won't get ours until the Official Tree Finder comes home to make the choice. Maybe by then I'll be in the spirit. I'd say the Bunco squad certainly is! Lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to get Christmas trees with a lot to do! And your tree turned out so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree! When I lived at home with mom we used to go and cut our own tree, too. It was so much fun! Then on the way home, we would stop and get a bucket of fried chicken and fixin's, go home and eat and decorate. :) Thanks for sharing your pictures...have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThis has helped me get a bit closer to a Christmas mood! A nice bunch you seem to have around you...
ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed. Probably not even putting the tree and decorations up this year.
ReplyDeleteHow fun,and tiring, and mood enhancing. I see your girlfriends are all in for the fun,
ReplyDeleteAs I looked at all the animals and then scrolled down to see the food, I couldn't help but get a laugh at the thought of what those cute little animals may someday become - a meal. :)
ReplyDeleteNice family pics and Bunco Bitches too. Sharing time with people is what "it's" all about.
What happy memories you have and continue to make...but oh...you make me hungry just looking at that delicious food!!! I love the angel...such a wonderful story...memories in each ornament...that's just how it should be!!! So fun to see all these fabulous photos!! ~Janine XO
ReplyDeleteSo many things to say here. I want to hear more about the tree process. It sounds absolutely perfect. I love the tree and especially the fact that you have the angel from so long ago. We also have all the ornaments that(survived)the kids have made. I love my tree for that very reason. You should really give a heads up before posting those yummy food pics. I'm drooling here and haven't had breakfast yet.
ReplyDeleteLast but not least: I want to be a bunko bitch! *pout*
hohohohohhooh. Looks like you're maing the most of the holiday season. Those killer baby back ribs were more than I can take over here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI have many old decorations on my tree that were made by my kids when they were little. Every year I treasure them more.
Great post! Really good pictures and you surely are rich in friends. Cherish them and your family around you this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat incredible photos. It certainly looks like you all had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteI bet your son is tickled silly seing his masterpiece up there year after year.. that is really precious, isn;t it!

It looks like so much fun - all of it. Great pictures. Thank you for sharing. Love the bowing angel.
ReplyDeleteAh, the beauty of a photo essay: so little has to be put in words, yet so much is conveyed. You have a lovely life.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say "Hi!" Hope you are finding some time to relax during this busy season!!! ~Janine XO
ReplyDeleteGreat post... the Best part of the holidays!
ReplyDeleteI do wonder about Rudolph and his buddies all on the wall of the B.B.Que place~ Hmmmm?
