Waiting in the Weeds

It's so curious:  one can resist tears and 'behave' very well in the hardest hours of grief.  But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window, or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed, or a letter slips from a drawer... and everything collapses.

Funny how life spins. How you plan that when you reach that certain point in time when a task completed will allow you to move forward, you suddenly discover you haven't finished where you were at all. Can set you right back on your ass. And, there, perhaps the only place to hang out is in the weeds, waiting for another day when it might be a little easier to emerge -- slowly.

Plan to return to my blogging world very soon. School's out for me next week. Several other things to tidy up and then, well, then I will see where the summer takes me. If I'll pull the  weeds out or let them hide around me a little longer.

Hope all of you are well. I miss your worlds. Hopefully not for much longer.

  1. Can't tell you how glad I was to see your comment in my email box this morning, to know that you're still here in blogtopia...at least in spirit.

I think of you often and hope things are going along OK, well as OK as they can come along...

Looking forward to your next write...
    'til then,
    Lotsa Hugs,

  2. that is the great thing about blogging......we are there.....be well and take care.....

  3. Yeah, I've been circling in the weeds a time or two. Be gentle with yourself, and remember there's a lot of support out here just barely beyond the edge of the weeds.

  4. After so many losses last year in my community cancer world I pulled away not only from blogging but even from talking about it. The grief was unbearable and just recently I thought I was ready to return when again I lost another friend. I have been strong enough to not pull away from those who need me but it takes all of my energy to be there for them and their families. I know how sad and lonely we become when we loose our mothers, mothers are special to all of us and your mum was an exception.....so easy to love and enjoy. Take your time sweetie, heal and move forward. You will know when the time is right and you also know your mum would want you to miss her but let her go. Sending big hugs always....:-)

  5. I miss hearing about your world too. Hope to see you soon...

  6. Good to see you. Be well

  7. Take your time and do what you need to do. We'll be here when you're ready. :)

  8. Girlfriend, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about! Who ever could have imagined it would be so hard!! But I too am slowly emerging from the weeds...it really is time to start living again ...but darn it everything is so sad. Think of you often...I am in Virginia right now or another month...thought it would be good for me but I just want to go home. xoxo

  9. Thinking of you, kiddo. Anytime you want to get together, just let me know.

  10. Time certainly does pass in the blink of an eye. I'm playing catch-up with this year's garden, the two jobs, house repairs...

  11. I enjoyed your visit to my blog a few days ago. The dedication and camaraderie among bloggers is precious; allowing us to drop in and out as life dictates.

  12. I love this quote. It speaks to me deeply. Spend as much time in the weeds as you need. There are some beautiful flowers to be found in the warm moist soil. You are on my mind a lot. Sending you love and light.

Let me know what you think. Every word you write, I appreciate.
