Soaking for A While
"And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter and sharing of pleasure. For in the dew of little things the heart finds it morning and is refreshed.
I am so sorry. I can't believe it. What a ball o'fire Bernie was! You are a lucky woman, and your siblings are lucky as well, to have had Bernie for your mother. God. I just can't believe it. I'm so sorry.
Julie, what a terrible loss, and so soon after losing your dad. You must be reeling, and rightly so. Bernie seemed like a force to be reckoned with, and obviously a lot of who she was rubbed off on you, especially the love of water and words.
I remember when she wanted to get the golden retriever, and you wished you wouldn't - but she did anyway, and what love and joy she showed for it during her posts. What will happen to her beloved dog?
Thinking of you and hoping family and memories will help ease your loss.
So very sorry to hear about the loss of your dear mother. She was a rare and precious jewel and will be sadly missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Hugs.
Julie, so sorry to read of your mom's passing.....my heart is breaking for you and your family. Sending you big hugs and please give my sympathy to your brothers. Bernie was a very special lady, she had so much energy and her post were fun to read, during our short friendship I learned so much from her . She e-mailed often and I loved every e-mail I received. I know you will miss her Julie so I encourage you to always remember the good times, the happy memories and always the love you both shared of the lake.....xo
Julie, I'm so sorry that you've lost your Mom. I've been to her blog (which I didn't know about) and can see that there's a resemblance in more ways than one. What a spirited woman! Like mother, like daughter.
Wishing you peace, good memories and tears as you soak.
I didn't know your mother had a blog; I had to do some quick reading. Your mother was an inspiration; she never lost her interest and enthusiasm for new life experiences and the joy of living. I know you will all miss her, but she's left you such a legacy of joie de vivre to hold onto in your hearts.
oh my...I am so sorry to read this. I read old-who-me? but never knew it was your mom. Please know that I am thinking of you and wishing you some peace and love...soak away...
Oh Julia, I'm so sorry to hear this news. Your mother lived an extraordinary life, especially for a woman born in the 1920's. It sounds like she was a real adventurer. I see now, from where your spirit comes.
Take a good long soak, and stand still a while. She'll be with you always wherever you are.
I love Kahlil Gibran's writings, Julie. This is a particularly beautiful quote. I've been so busy of late, that I'm afraid to say I've missed a few of your posts and was completely unaware of the recent passing of your Mother. She sounds like such an incredibly inspiring, amazing woman and I can only imagine how painful this is for you. I don't recall ever having visited her blog and, if I had, I definitely had no idea she was your Mother. From the comments here, she was obviously well-loved by her Followers and will be sorely missed. My loving thoughts are with you and your family as you take the time to adjust to her absence.
I am so sorry.
